Our mental health therapist works from a trauma informed, harm reduction perspective and provides on-site confidential clinical services. When receiving mental health services through Iris Kirby House, you can expect compassion and understanding that is free from judgement or expectations.  Many women who access counselling at IKH seek assistance with developing coping skills for managing stress and anxiety.  If you choose to access clinical services at IKH, you can also expect encouragement for healing through focusing on compassion toward yourself and learning about the power of boundaries.  Because every person’s counselling needs differ, the Mental Health Clinician will work with you based on your priorities, your personal needs, and we will work at your own pace.  Modalities used  for healing include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.  Accelerated Resolution Therapy or ‘ART’  helps resolve past traumas that can very often contribute to mental health concerns like anxiety & depression, physical health concerns, and addiction. If it is something you wish to explore, the mental health clinician can work with you (and your brain) at a subconscious level  to provide relief for long time emotional suffering, triggers, and symptoms of PTSD.
